plan to get one but wit 3 tel co offering almost the same..
how to chose?? any suggestion?
Hey Angel,
I say go with what you need.
Even with 3 Telco’s offering the same stuff, I’ll probably still stay with Singtel.
In my experience, Singtel provides more stable data line and voice calls. But that’s me, you’ll have to decide for yourself.
Oh and of course Singtel has 2 extra years supporting iPhone as compared to the new comers
m1 offering 10gb for their plans.its a huge difference at arnd same price plan.guess becos they cant offer mio or scv on mobile
Hey Fow,
That’s great for M1!!
But unless you consistently stream video or download stuff you won’t use 10gb.
And as you say M1 does not have mio or scv on mobile.
My pass usage is about 500mb a month even when I surf the net up to 5hrs daily on my iphone.
Yeah. M1 Also Announce Their Price Plan.
i am oso a singtel loyal customer
agree wit you that they do hav a more stable network
guess i’ll stick to singtel then..
my next question is ther is 3 model available.
8, 16 or 32gb? it is again depend on my storage?
and is iphone user friendly? i had onli been a nokia
user..
Hey Angel,
Your data usage depends heavily on the application you choose to use.
I surf the internet on my iphone, check email and play games most of the time. Occasionally I surf Youtube.
If you need or want to watch streaming videos more than anything else … 500MB is not enough, you need a data plan that is unlimited to be safe.
But if your usage is like mine, 500MB is ought to be enough, take 1GB to be very safe
I’m on a iOne Plus plan with a data plan VAS. Next year, I’ll probably switch to a iFlex Plus once my VAS contract expires.
8GB iPhone is the 2nd Gen 3G model. 16 and 32 are the 3rd Gen 3GS model (which is faster, have video plus some other stuffs).
For most folks, the 16GB model should be sufficient and I think is a better choice (newer hardware and ample storage).
But if you are those type that like to stuff all your photos and videos into your iPod, go for the 32GB one.
User friendliness? It’ll take a little while to re-orientate yourself but once you are done, you’ll probably never go back to Nokia.
It’s not about the user friendliness but more of how much more fun it is to use the iPhone due to the apps available
james,
may i know what plan are you on now? since you say ur usage is about 500mb a month even when surfing the net up to 5hrs daily ??
i beg to differ from your last two sentences. IPhone could be smarter and quicker in many ways, but, fulfilling the basic phone functionalities, in my experience, it lacks a bit. I too carried away by the iphone tide and bought 3GS 16GB from Singtel. I am bit heavy phone user, i get abroad calls very frequently (say at least 7 or 10 in a day).
After switching to iphone, the horrible thing happened, overseas calls doesn’t displays who is calling me even though the numbers are stored in contacts. If i miss the call, then i have to search in the contacts for the numbers to match manually. The reason : i save the numbers with prefix of 019. All along, i have been using nokia and never had that problem.
Another instance, got a call from my wife and she was asking for a person number, i know, i didn’t stored that number in contacts, but that is available in the recent call list. Guess what! i cannot go to recent call list without hang my current call. There are several similar basic phone functionalities are lacking.
IPhone is definetly a great phone with plenty of advanced features. But, if you are a heavy phone users, better keep you old handset safe. Guess what, i have returned back to my Nokia and given the iphone to my wife.
Hey Devendran,
Thanks for sharing.
Every phone has it’s market and there is no single perfect phone for every situation
Your point proves that for business needs, an iPhone might lack some functionality that are important and apps for fun probably mean less to a business user.
So again it is important for the user to decide what their need is.
I’ve found my in the iPhone, you found your in a Nokia and I think that’s what’s important
thanks guys for sharing
now i nid to think twice do i reli nid a iphone
Hey Angel,
That’s an important question and only you can answer.
Don’t chase technology upgrade but if you have the need and it fulfills your needs than don’t hesitate
starhub offers IDD calls at lowered rates, for those who call overseas a lot – that would be the main reason to switch unless singtel matches or betters that!
agree wit you james..
so tempt to get the iphone yet i dunno why.. haha
thinking….
Hey Angel,
It always happens … want to upgrade but can’t explain why … just want …
BTW, Singtel has upgraded their iFlexi plans. Check them out below:
