Get Your iPhone 3GS At The Singtel Christmas Fair For Zero Dollars

Singtel really wants you to buy their iPhone (now that Starhub and M1 both can sell it) so much so that it’s willing to let it go at zero dollars … as long as you switch from another operator.
I’m not sure what the terms and conditions are but Singtel has advertised that you can get a brand new iPhone 3Gs free with just a iFlexi Value plan when you switch to Singtel.
That’s a 16GB iPhone (8GB models are the older 3G version) and I think it usually sells for much more but I can’t remember the actual price.
So the offer is good and if you want it … head on down to The Singtel Christmas Fair happening at Suntec Singapore Hall 601 now … it’s just for 2 days.

Called Singtel customer service hotline. The promotion works in this way:
- $288 for iPhone 3GS 16GB with subscription of iFlexi Value at $56/mth
- $200 off for switching in from M1 or Starhub
- $100 off for signing up with additional broadband-on-mobile (cheapest currently at $9.90/mth for 1GB data limit)
So is there an offer? No — it’s the same promotion they had for iPhone 3GS launch in July 2009.
I would have this is a bargain if the $0 is for the 32GB model which they splashed clearly in their full page ad. Can we sue Singtel for misrepresentation?
yes, i called up too. i really do not see where the $0 comes into play, although i thought the customer service guy i was talking to told me only $100 off for switching telco, and another $100 off for those plans he mentioned. not very sure because, you see, by that time i wasn’t really that interested anymore. i’d rather wait and see what starhub and m1 offer.

Let’s see what Starhub and M1 has to offer during SITEX … or maybe Singtel can improve on their offer (but that would pissed those who signed up this weekend, right)?
I do not seem to see any posting on this other offer that Singtel has on its singtelshop, and wonder about the details as there is no details or terms and conditions given.

The promotion has been reflecting on the website since yesterday morning, and I’ve actually gone all the way to the payment page, and still the offer is reflected.
Are they for real… and what are the tech specs like for the anonymous Macbook (I have checked it up elsewhere but what guarantee is there that the specs would be the same?)

It doesn’t sound possible to get a free Macbook with a purchase of iPhone.
Singtel is already heavily subsidising the iPhone as it is. To give a Macbook that cost MORE than the iPhone itself doesn’t make business sense.
Maybe the offer was perhaps a gift voucher of certain sum to offset against the purchase of a Macbook?
Anyway, that’s just my speculation cos I don’t recall seeing it
