Singtel Broadband Pre-SITEX Promotion With Apple Macbook and More

Singtel has launch a pre-SITEX promotion for it’s broadband plans and it’s very attractive … especially with the latest Apple Macbook with unibody construction, Intel Core 2 Duo processor and LED-backlit displays … nice!

Apple MacBook
Of course it’s not entirely free … but heavily subsidised and you are tied to a 24 months contract.
The base price (normal promotional) for a 10Mbps plan is $46.9 so you actually pay $41.1 monthly for the Macbook over 24 month.
That amounts to paying $986.4 for a Macbook which cost $1588 which translates to a subsidy of $601.6.
Lenovo IdeaPad U150
Next option you have is the Lenovo IdeaPad U150 Bundle.
For this bundle you top up a total of $537.36 and that translates to a subsidy of $761.64.
Hmm … sounds even better then the Apple Macbook bundle.
Acer Aspire Touch and Rotate Notebook (AS1820PTZ)
Next option you have is the Acer Aspire Touch and Rotate Notebook (AS1820PTZ) Bundle <- that’s a mouthful.
For this bundle you similarly top up a total of $537.36 and that translates to a subsidy of $960.64.
Now, that’s just incredible. Probably the best deal we have here.
Acer Aspire one 10.1″ Ultra Slim (AO531h)
Another option you have is the Acer Aspire One 10.1 Ultra Slim (AO531h) Bundle <- this is a netbook.
For this bundle you similarly top up a total of $218.4 and that translates to a subsidy of $780.6.
But that’s based on the quote $999 price which I bet you can get it around $600 – 700 at SITEX 2009.
Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade
The last option and the first time I see Singtel offering an OS, is the Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade (retail).
For this bundle you similarly top up a total of $72 and that translates to a subsidy of $147.
There you have it.
All options analysed for you, now you just have to decide which is worth it and if Singtel will come out with something more enticing for SITEX 2009 or will the promotion continue.
But for now, the promotion ends on 22 NOV 2009.

Your SingTel SiTex article is misleading. I read it and went to Sitex exhitbition. But I cannot find SingTel booth there. It seems your article is not accurate as you display a flashing Sitex graphic with the SingTel promotion.
I had wasted my half-day here. As I came all the way from CCK to the east side, queue for almost 1.5 hours to get into the carpark. Walk about the exhibition to hunt for SingTel booth, and no one seems to be able to find it.

At the point of posting, I meant that it was available for the same period ad SITEX 2009. I too do not know if Singtel was available there.
In hindsight, I might have updated this post further that Singtel was missing from SITEX but in the rush to update other deals, this slipped my mind.

Singtel was there at sitex 2009, but do not have a booth on its own brand, just use a small counter with other brand, they have two counters, one located near “Gateway”, another one I can’t remember, but around 30m apart, not so easy to find.

Singnet Mobile Broadband had an offer with Acer but I cannot recall if it’s still on.

Singnet is Lenovo Idealpad U150, same contract at $69++.

The U150 should perform similarly to the Acer Touch & Rotate. Should be more than sufficient for normal web surfing, emailing, word processing, video streaming, etc.
Once I get my Acer next week from Singnet (hopefully, I heard they had no stock) I would have a better idea

If you need a notebook bundle, they have one currently with their mobile broadband.
For fixed line broadband, I think they are currently bundling with Win7.

M1 has still has ongoing promotions that give a HP Mini 210 Netbook or Fujitsu Lifebook P3010W depending on the plan you sign up. But it ends on 11 Apr (that's tomorrow!).
