Hi Folks,
Remember N.E.Mation? The competition for youths to express their personal ideas on Total Defence through animation? It’s back for it’s 7th edition and they are now calling for entries!!
All you have to do is be a current student between the age of 13 – 18 from secondary schools, junior colleges and centralised institutes, submit a story based on your interpretation of this years theme and you stand a chance to win attractive prizes worth more than S$15000 (including a fully sponsored trip to USA and tour a renowned animation studio) and also stand to have your animation clips aired on national television!

THE THEME – TOGETHER WE OVERCOME
2013 marks the 10th year since SARS hit Singapore so N.E.Mation! 7 theme would like to call for entries of stories of how Singaporeans rallied together to overcome a crisis.
How do you find a story?
Just do a little online research about past Singapore Crisis/Disaster/Incidents and you will be surprise by the amount of content available.
So what crisis did we had before?
Let’s see … we had:
- 1978 Hotel New World Disaster
- 1983 Cable Car Accident
- 1991 Singapore Airlines Flight 117 Hijack
- 1997 Asian Financial Crisis
- 2011 9-11 Incident
- 2003 SARS
- 2004 Nicoll Highway Collapse
Those are some that I could remember with dates collaborated after 5 minutes of research.
Now all you have to do is put in a little creativity to tell the story of how “Together We Overcome“!
How To Participate In N.E.Mation! 7
It’s actually pretty easy to register your entries … you don’t need any prior knowledge or experience in animation at this point of time as student participants will be taught everything from story building and story boarding to presenting and, of course, animating.
All you have to do now is:
- Form a team of 3 to 4 members and register it with N.E.Mation! and you will be given a team account.
- Research on a crisis that hit Singapore, when Singaporeans rallied together to overcome it and share it through your N.E.Mation! account before 12 Aug 2012.
Important Info To Note:
That’s right, all you have to do is submit a story idea, that’s all to get the ball rolling and who knows, you might just get selected into the top 100 teams where things starts to get very interesting.

N.E.mation! is a competition for youths to express their personal ideas on Total Defence through animation. In Season 7, we are inviting students from secondary schools, junior colleges and centralised institutes to once again put on their thinking caps, unleash their creative juices and express themselves by submitting engaging and compelling stories at www.nemation.sg. The ten shortlisted finalist teams will receive professional animation training to convert their story ideas into one-minute animation clips.
