Hi Folks,
The Great Singapore Sale 2011 has been running for about 4 weeks now since 27 May 2011.
Most of the retailers that could go on sale have already started their sale.
Some of the high end retailers have been pretty quiet about their sale (no advertisements, no sign of sales, not even a crowd to indicate that a sale is on) …. ok, just in case you have to ask … yes, Prada Sale has started quietly around 17 Jun and yes, I did not know about it until now.
Maybe business this Great Singapore Sale has been really good or retailers are spot on in their assessment of the good required last season (resulting in less past season good for clearance) … we do see less retailers doing crazy sales.
But the sales are still there and it’s still more common to see a shop with a sale sign than one without.
So what are we to expect for the next four weeks?
Well … for one, there are still some brands who are typically late in their sale cycle that will be starting their sale this week … namely Zara, Pull & Bear, Bershka & Stradivarius (from Inditex Group).
I will also want to look out for further reductions from many every other retailers … I’ll be looking out for Guess, Mango, Esprit, etc.
There might also be some warehouse sale either towards the end of The Great Singapore Sale 2011 or slightly after that.
Of course, after The Great Singapore Sale 2011 … we’ll be watching out for National Day Sales, NATAS Fair and COMEX 2011.
So are you still game for more shopping spree?
Cheers,
James

Hey PurplePinkie,
Yap … Gap has gone further discount already
hi, just to check the Prada sales, does it incl. Marina Sands & Ion branch ?
Hey Jess,
I believe each boutique has their own outgoing season stock to clear (i.e. they should all have sale items) but whether they still have any left is an unknown since non of them put up the sale sigh
Hi,
I was wondering if Zara will have their GSS sales? Or are they hanging on till the end of year sales?
Hey KaiZ,
It should be coming out soon (this week probably … worst case, next week) …Zara is pretty quiet on normal days … I don’t see crazy crowds so I don’t think they will put off the sale till year end.
In any case, the designs are all wrong (for the season) if they put the current season designs on sale during year end
Morning James
Mango started their further reduction sale (up to 70%) today. Saw the ad in today’s ST. Just for your info 8^)
Hi Deanna,

Hey James,
I was just wondering what would be a good time to go shopping for casual shirts and collard t shirts, and do you have any ideas where or what brand? BTW will lacoste or Ralph Lauren be having any sales?
Cheers karan
Hey Karan,
Now would be as good a time as any … when I was at Orchard over the weekend, Lacoste and Ralph Lauren was still having their sales.

Btw are there any sales on Sperry boat shoes, i am a great fan, but can never seem to find a sale.
Thanks for the help.
Hey Karan,
I don’t think there is a Sperry specialty store in Singapore so you will unlikely find a sale just for their shoes … you can check out the outlets that normally sell them when they are on sale.
As of these moment, I do not know of a sale with Sperry boat shoes on the menu
