If you have been try to reach us for the pass 36 hour … you would have seen a plain white page that simply states “Forbidden”.

And everyone, me included, could not access LivingInSingaporeToday.com.

So what happened?

Simply put, the heavy traffic that LivingInSingaporeToday.com was experiencing exceeded what my previous hosting plan can support and as a result my hosting provider suspended LivingInSingaporeToday.com until a solution could be found.

So we bit the bullet and made the decision to shift LivingInSingaporeToday.com over to a Virtual Private Server (a kind of semi dedicated server with it’s own dedicated resources).

This will, hopefully, prevent such outage from recurring in the future. And if it does, the VPS would still be scalable enough for us to bring it back online in a much shorter time.

As of now, we are still waiting for the web to get an update of our new IP address (dedicated too) but in the meantime, you might still occasionally get 403 errors on some of our pages (new pages included, the image in this post got it too!).
